There are the layoffs. Then there are the layoffs during conference calls. And then there are the bizarre apologies and statements about openness but not openness right now. Does Patch have much left in it? And what does this say about hyperlocal news?
We also discuss Jeff Bezos buying The Washington Post. As a Washington resident, I can say that there are a lot worse things for a news organizations than being purchased by a rich guy who likes to books, logistics and the Web.
